Removing the rattlesnake isn't enough.

Our field agents have thousands of field hours tracking and studying rattlesnakes in the wild. This level of experience is what we bring to your property when you call. That means that as well as catching the rattlesnake to be moved elsewhere, we can search your property to find places and features that may actually be attracting rattlesnakes to the area. Unlike some services or pest control businesses, we can identify a rattlesnake track in the sand, tell you if a shed skin is from a venomous snake or not, identify snake feces, and any of signs that we use to find them in the wild that can provide answers about why it is there, and what can be done to prevent more.

What Happens to the Rattlesnakes We Relocate?

We take as much care as possible to make sure that any snake we relocate is treated with care and moved to an area that can give as much chance as possible for its continued survival. Rattlesnakes are relocated to a new area within their estimated homerange and released to cover so that they can emerge and reorient themselves.

Rattlesnakes are a very important part of the natural ecosystem - in the Prescott area, neighborhoods are mixed in with beautiful desert, forest and grassland landscapes, mountain backdrops, and desert habitat. Wildlife that has survived urban development finds a way to survive wherever it can. For many of us, this means the pool becomes a watering hole, the garage is a cave, and all of the landscaping is just one more place to hide, eat, and survive.

In most areas, this can be as simple as a random rattlesnake encounter. Other properties, however, may invite rattlesnakes right in without even realizing it. Decorative rocks, water features and fountains, bushy plants, entryways, covered patios, and other common features that make our homes comfortable also become resources for snakes. Any small reduction in useful habitat, man-made or otherwise, will decrease your chance of seeing a rattlesnake. Additionally to capturing the rattlesnake, we take every possible effort to find out why the snake is there to begin with and let you know what can be done to prevent future encounters.

Prescott is Snake Central: be prepared.

The Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey and Chino Valley area is diverse in rattlesnakes, with 4 species found in the immediate area.

The Western Diamondback Rattlesnake is the most common rattlesnake in the Prescott area and can be found in lower grassy areas around Prescott Valley, but avoid the higher elevation areas and forest. Even in parts of the city that are relatively enclosed by urban sprawl, rattlesnakes can be found along drainage corridors anywhere there is native habitat. In higher elevation and mountainous areas, the Arizona Black Rattlesnake and Blacktailed Rattlesnake are common sights.

Harmless species of snake are also common. Gophersnakes, multiple species of kingsnake, groundsnakes, and others are found in yards and garages. If you are unsure what type of snake you are looking at, email us at info@rattlesnakesolutions.com with a photo and we will tell you what it is and what, if anything, needs to be done about it. If you aren't completely sure what a snake is, do not try to capture it.
